California Hunter Education
The Hunter Education course consists of a minimum of ten hours of classroom, homework, and field instruction in the following areas: firearms safety and handling, sportsmanship and ethics, wildlife management and conservation, archery, black powder, wildlife identification, game care, first aid, and survival. After a student has successfully completed the course of instruction and passed the final examination, they are awarded a Certificate of Completion. Parents are encouraged to participate with their children in the course and its related activities. There is not a minimum age requirement to take the course, but young children may find the course demanding
About the URPC Hunter Education Course:
- Pre-registration is REQUIRED! It is now necessary to pre-register online.

- If under 18 years of age, a parent/guardian will be REQUIRED to sign a release.
- If you were born after 1-1-2004 you will need a parental release form signed on the first day of class.
- Classes start PROMPTLY at 8am.
- The final test consists of 100 questions and must be passed with a score or 80% or better.
- The fee is 10.00 for a 2 day class from 8am-3pm each day
- Bring a sack lunch
- All firearms and ammunition will be included so please do not bring your own!
- Do not call to register for a class! You must use the link at the top of this section.
